Beer of the week
In a tribute to our return to the fatherland, the beer of the week comes from Australia's finest mainstream brewer, Coopers.
Coopers Brewery is based in Adelaide in South Australia, and they are famous for their Ales. Coopers traditionally use a fermantion process in which the beer ferments in the bottle, which is what the English call a 'real Ale'..ie the beer is still living/fermenting.
Coopers are famous for the yeast residue and cloudy appearance. All bottles of Coopers must be 'rolled' along its side before serving in order to stir the yeast throughout the bottle.
You can find out more at
Coopers Website
My favourite Coopers Ale is one of their lesser-known products, Coopers Dark.
It's dark and rich colour and flavours are reminiscent of the best English Ales. If you are ever travelling down under, make sure you give Coopers Dark Ale a go.
