A Sunday excursion to Great Tew

So the Falkland Arms at Great Tew had a beer festival on over the weekend. They promised 23 'real' Ales, i.e. hand pumped out of a wooden cask, not gas pumped out of a steel drum. Usually this means that the beer is still fermenting in the cask, so it is a 'living' beer.

In addition to 23 real ales, they also promised Pig Racing at 4 pm on Sunday afternoon. After watching the excitement and action of Ferret Racing, I had to watch some porky little pigs go for a trot, so off we went to Great Tew.

As you can see, it is a very pretty little village.

Unfortunately, the 'pig racing' turned out to be 20 cm long battery-operated pigs racing down a 2 metre electrified track.

And the queue at the bar at 4 pm was so long that we gave up, as Lucas had to be fed at 4:45 pm.

Oh well, at least it was another beautiful day in the countryside. We shall return to the Falkland arms at a later date.
