The wonders of BBC television
Lately we've watched ferret fashions on BBC1, which also discussed the increasing popularity of ferrets, and if you want to walk your ferret, there are now studded leather walking leads in various colours, including hot pink.
Tonight we watched University Challenge: The Professionals, between the Bodleian Library (famous library in Oxford and one of the biggest libraries in the world) and the Royal Statistical Society. This was the hardest trivia show I have ever seen in my life... eggheads everywhere.
The only question I got right was that the Stephan Boltzman law describes the temperature distribution for a Black Body. The wife got a couple of questions, one about Evelyn Waugh (apparently some author) and one about Carbonic acid.
Bonus rounds included 'name that English lighthouse' (it was a picture round).

Wow, that sounds like a tough quiz. Sometimes I watch Jeopardy, however the "answers in the form of questions" gimmick becomes tedious.
I did the Wednesday night trivia at the Corner with Helen and RB (and a few others) last night. Three rounds, music, film and tv, and popular culture. Not bad, but a bit slow moving. It was a respectible result for the team. We'll be trying out the East Brunswick Club one next. (Bronwen will be on that team, our secret weapon!)
